Biography

Angela is a Japanese Anisong pop duo from Okayama, Japan consisting of members atsuko (Vocal) and KATSU (Instrumentals)

They made their major label debut with King Records in 2003, when they performed the opening theme song “Asu e no Brilliant Road” to the anime Stellvia of the Universe.

Since then, they have been responsible for numerous anime songs and collaborations for such titles as Fafner in the Azure, Martian Successor Nadesico, Heroic Age, Corpse Princess, Asura Cryin’, Seitokai Yakuindomo, K, Valvrave the Liberator, Knights of Sidonia, Aho Girl, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, and many more.

Especially popular among anime fans, they have performed not only in Japan, but all over the world, including several countries in Asia, Europe, and North America. They are known for their impressive live performance and stage presence, and have appeared as a headliner at many renowned festivals including the largest Anisong concert in the world, Animelo Summer Live.

angela has released 9 studio albums, 3 compliation albums, and several more singles and mini albums. In 2016, they collaborated with Anisong pop group fripSide to release a set of 2 singles “Boku wa boku de atte” and “The end of escape”. In 2023, they were appointed as the “Momotaro Town Okayama Ambassador” as well as the “Saidaiji Hometown Ambassador” in Okayama. That same year, angela was recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records and officially certified for “Most number of songs sung by the same artist for an animation franchise” for their work with the Fafner in the Azure series.
