Sunday 15:30
Meeting Room D
This session explores how Iaido, the art of drawing and cutting with a sword, embodies Japanese martial arts culture through etiquette, hierarchy, and precise movement. Participants will learn how Jo-Ha-Ky? (the natural rhythm of action) influences training and decision-making, alongside the importance of reih? (ritualized etiquette) and the senpai-k?hai mentorship system. Through discussion and guided practice with wooden swords (bokken), attendees will experience how Iaido cultivates focus, composure, and respect in both martial arts and everyday life.
