Anime Ottawa (presented by Ottawa Comiccon) is proud to announce that its inaugural edition was a resounding success! Over 9,000 Anime fans roamed the EY Centre this weekend during this first annual convention dedicated to Japanese culture, showcasing the best of manga, animation, cosplay, video games, music, and so much more. “We have surpassed our expectations with this first adventure, and we are grateful to all attendees and exhibitors for their enthusiastic participation”, said Scott Péron, Anime Ottawa’s VP of operations.
Anime Ottawa promises to become one of the fastest growing events of its kind in the nation’s capital and will return next year in 2025, from April 18 to 20, with a surreal and exciting programming.
Amongst the highlights this weekend: Friday evening, the Anidance with guests ANC3 got everyone dancing, the angela concert on Saturday was a hit, and on Sunday, fans were thrilled with the Dance Showcase, featuring talented dancers from the region. A special thanks to our featured guests Emi Lo, Daman Mills, Chris Hackney, the 404s and angela for their presence, their engagement with the fans as well as their entertaining on-stage panels & performances.
